All items in this store are genuine, going through the usual scrutiny that one has as a collector. Items that are found to be illegitimate can be returned for a full refund. All items are graded by us using the standard ANA scale of 1-70. All grades are approximate and subjective. You are certainly welcome to have a third party certify them at your leisure.

"Coins" is just a broader term for numismatic items which includes paper money and tokens. We are currently working towards building a list of coins for sale. Good quality images are integral to selling numismatic items, therefore we are developing a system to streamline the process, so stayed tuned for coins in the future.

Our grading is meant to be conservative. We will give written assessments of the item in order to arrive at a grade, not the other way around. Where a note is perfect (Gem Uncirculated) it will not need this description because there are no defects. We try to give our most honest opinion based on our experience.

At GTA Coins we try our hardest to categorize our inventory according to readily available catalogs. A "P" will signify any of the comprehensive world/international paper money listings published by Krause . An "F" signifies a listing by the Friedberg compilation in their Red Book, published by Whitman. Finally, "BC" means Bank of Canada, and our listings come from the Charlton catalogues, the standard for Canadian numismatics. Canadian notes will also carry an extra abbreviation that stands for the first letter in the last names of the two required signatures. For example, L/B indicates that the banknote's issuance was authorized by the signatures Lawson and Bouey.

G.T.A. stands for Greater Toronto Area, which is where this store is situated. We use our various networks to track down banknotes in this wonderful multicultural metropolis.

We consider the cost of postage to different zones, materials such as envelopes and plastic sleeves, and the amount of notes shipped. The cost is mostly dependent on the weight of the final shipped product. The customer saves more by buying 3-7 notes at a time.
